The first ever Cape Cornwall Saxophone Course was held in 2023.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT A CAPE
CORNWALL SAXOPHONE COURSE?
Expert saxophone tuition from two outstanding musicians and experienced tutors: Karen Street and Andy Tweed
A friendly and supportive atmosphere in which to explore new techniques and explore skill sets.
Uniquely – two new sax band pieces written for each course; one by Karen Street.
The stunning location and facilities of Cape Cornwall Club, and Boswedden House. CCC’s swimming pool, gym and sauna are for use at any time over the course.
Guided walks – explore the immediate tin coast landscape; and yoga – special emphasis for the playing saxophonist; both available for free time sessions.
Excellent food from executive chef, Ian Salmon – locally sourced, seasonal food for the course meals.

Confident to Advanced Players
WHAT MUSIC WILL I BE PLAYING?
A range of styles, including classical, folk, jazz and the new pieces.
WHAT LEVEL DO I HAVE TO BE?
Confident: grade 5 standard and above.
Improvisation: no experience necessary.
This course is suitable for those players wishing to develop their confident skills through group playing and learning new techniques.
WHAT WILL EACH DAY’S PROGRAMME INCLUDE?
Playing in a large saxophone band and smaller ensembles.
Exploring new techniques in workshops.
Choosing to play in a performance class or masterclass.
Choosing to improvise in a group.
WHAT DO I HAVE TO PREPARE?
No prep needed. Music is provided at CCSC.

WHERE IS THIS SAXOPHONE COURSE TAKING PLACE?
In the amazing location of Cape Cornwall Club (CCC) and Boswedden House, both due West of St Just in Penwith, in the spectacular rugged landscape of Cape Cornwall.
CCC for accommodation, food and main rehearsal space and bar for evening jazz impro.
Boswedden House, a 2 min walk from CCC, for extra rehearsal spaces including use of the beautiful yoga studio for smaller ensembles.
